The marine industry needs personal contact with water sports enthusiasts again. Due to the Covid pandemic, a lot is going online at the moment and shows such as Hiswa te Water are visibly missed by both exhibitors and water sports enthusiasts.
It is possible that the Hiswa te Water in September will be the first exhibition to be held again,” says exhibition manager Arjen Rahusen, whose team is already hard at work on the preparations.
A new sparkling logo symbolizes the fair that stands for innovative and as can be seen in the layout of the Bataviahaven. An artist’s impression gives a good idea of what it will look like. With even more boats in the water, pavilions and stands, and a great atmosphere on the quays.
We are going to involve the harbour quay in the fair for the first time. We are going to use the extra space created for sloops, motorboats, multi-hulls, but also for large yachts. The three-masted De Stedemaeght will be moored at the new quay, as a floating VIP restaurant. During the last boat show we noticed that there was a need for a place where visitors, but also exhibitors with business contacts, could sit quietly.”
Face to face
The Hiswa te Water organization has almost daily contact with the marine industry. What we hear from exhibitors is that now almost everything goes online and face to face contact is missed. The exhibitors need a show where they can present their new arrivals in ‘real life’ instead of virtually. We are also seeing new faces: companies that used to be at the Hiswa RAI but now that it is no longer being held, are opting for the Hiswa te Water.’
The Covid pandemic with all its attendant consequences remains unpredictable for the time being. In the unlikely event that the Hiswa in-water boat show is cancelled, exhibitors will receive a full refund of their entry fee, just as they did during the last cancelled edition. This commitment has a positive effect, according to the bookings that have already been made.
We have various possibilities to participate, such as on the boulevard, on the quays, on a platform, with a boat in the harbor or with a stand in the entrance tent.”
The Hiswa in Water will be held from 1 to 5 September 2021 at the Batavia Haven in Lelystad.
