Never before so many boats to admire at the “HISWA in-water boat show” in Lelystad, Holland.
A complete day out in the Batavia Haven Lelystad.
The Batavia Haven in Lelystad is the nautical backdrop for the HISWA in-water boat show, for the second year running. With more than 320 boats – from dinghy to super yacht – at the pontoons and about 100 stands with everything for on and around the water, the water sports show is the Mecca for water sports enthusiasts. With the many new models, show offers, sailing clinics and festivities in and around the marina, the whole family can enjoy themselves here all day long. The “HISWA in the water” starts on Wednesday 4 and lasts until Sunday 8 September.
In the Batavia Haven in Lelystad, with a magnificent view on the Markermeer, preparations for the largest North European In-Water Boatshow have already started. In order to optimally present the more than 320 ships, special jetties will be constructed and the Batavia Haven will undergo a complete metamorphosis. One visitor was able to put it aptly last year: “On the “HISWA in the water” you can see the boats where they belong, namely in the water.” The boats lie with the stern to the quay, so they can be viewed from all sides. Of course, for those interested, test runs are possible at most of the exhibitors.
Golden Boulevard
A new feature is the Golden Boulevard, where the larger exclusive yachts of 15 meters and longer can be admired. The average boat length during the 36th HISWA in the water is 9.98 meters. With a length of 25 meters, the Princess 75Y is the longest, a RIB of 2.5 meters the smallest. Of course all segments are represented: from wood, polyester to steel and from sailing and motor yachts, to tenders and sloops.
Boat to Power
Electric sailing is a topical subject in water sports and the organisation of the “HISWA in the water” is happy to provide a platform for this. This takes place on the so-called “Boat to Power” pavilion. This is where visitors can ask all their questions about electric sailing. In addition, they can experiment with a variety of electric boats. “Just like on the road, there is a transition to electric on the water. We want our visitors to experience for themselves that this can also be fun,” says Arjen Rahusen, director of the HISWA in the water.
Activities for the whole family
Sailing is often an activity for the whole family and the HISWA continues to do so. Children can sail, paddle or canoe, there is a nautical market with almost a hundred stands and there are several clinics on the water where visitors can improve their sailing skills. Of course, the KNRM is also present with two super-fast lifeboats that can be used to tear you over the Markermeer.
Theatre by the water
After a tour of the show, Theatre by the water is the place to process all your impressions while enjoying music, good food and listening to interesting speakers.
